These paintings were lifted from encyclopedias and other geographic, historic and scientific publications. In a way they question the documentation of history, by reworking images that are generally accepted as true or factual. They are a quest to negotiate history and science in a visual journal of paint that becomes a sort of alternate encyclopedia as it expands.

They are oil, on gesso, on wood.
